If action is the name of the next-gen game, then a Sierra Entertainment and Spark Unlimited deal is pretty big news.
In a media release, Sierra, which is a division of Vivendi Games, revealed it has signed a development agreement with Spark for an action title for next-gen consoles. Very little about the project was revealed in the release other than saying more details are to come soon. The title is expected to ship in 2007.
"We couldn't be more excited about the opportunity to work with
Vivendi Games and Sierra Entertainment. We share a common creative
vision for this upcoming project, but even more importantly, a desire
to deliver a truly unique and incredible game experience," said Craig
Allen, CEO, Spark Unlimited.
Whatever Sierra and Spark are cooking up is likely to be good. Spark’s responsible for Call of Duty: Finest Hour and Sierra’s, well, Sierra. It’s been responsible for some serious titles, including one of my new favorites – F.E.A.R., which is coming to the Xbox 360, too.
You can bet my eyes will be peeled for more information on this undertaking.
