It’s the most talked about game that no one’s ever played. If it weren’t for the trailers and screenshots, it might be considered mythical.
But Spore is coming; just a little later than Will Wright fans might have liked. The man himself has been quoted as saying they’re now targeting “the second half of next year for now.”
The highly anticipated god-like game will have players creating their own universe from the primordial ooze on up. The idea is to evolve a civilization from the spore all the way through to space travel and beyond. Players can create their own race of creatures and watch them evolve.
Considering all the hype, Spore’s going to have to be one heck of a dazzler when it comes out. Anything less will be a massive let down to fans that have followed the game’s development since its first mention in 2005. If anyone can create a real winner of a title, however, it’s Wright.
My money’s on Wright and Spore.
