Xbox 360 gamers itching to get into the driver’s seat of Test Drive Unlimited have a few more days to wait, but Atari’s prepared a tease to help them survive the wait.
A new playable demo of Test Drive Unlimited is out and on Xbox Live for gamers with Xbox 360s to check out.
The new demo doesn’t sound half bad for a demo. It includes a sampling of both online and offline play with 40 miles of open roads in Oahu, Hawaii. New vehicles in this demo include the Ferrari F430, the Ford Mustang GT Coupe and a Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R. The demo comes with a lot of the game’s bells and whistles, too. These include speed blur effects that are customizable, gear changes and handling refinements.
It's available for both Silver and Gold members of Xbox Live with a broadband connection.
"The first Test Drive Unlimited demo was an amazing success, placing third for all downloads during E3," said Rick Mehler, Director of Marketing, Atari Inc. in a media release. "As a result of the demo, Atari's belief that gamers want and deserve more from gaming – in terms of content, graphics, gameplay and online options – was confirmed. With this new Test Drive Unlimited demo, we will deliver M.O.O.R ., Massively Open Online Racing and a gaming experience that is reinventing the racing genre."
Test Drive Unlimited hits the roads in North American stores on Sept. 5. Game Stop’s taking preorders on it for $39.99. The title will release for the 360 and other platforms such as the PS2.
