The week Nintendo fans all over the world have been waiting for is upon us. It looks more than possible that by this time on Friday everything will be revealed.
But, sadly, Nintendo’s not talking – much.
The company has planned three separate Wii-related events in different parts of the world. The first one kicks off today in Japan. The second one is set for America on the 14th, and the European event in London for Friday the 15th.
The Nintendo Europe Web site is hyping the Sept. 15 event in a big way. With a headline that reads “What will Wii reveal?”, it’s hard not to speculate. Will Wii finally get a firm release date? Will Wii get a real price? Will Wii pull off a stellar launch just to show up Sony? Wii wanna know!
The London Wii extravaganza is an invitation-only event, but Nintendo’s going pretty far in pushing the excitement level. “What's it all about? Well, you'll just have to wait and see. But as the text on the invitation card teasingly states: All of you will be excited, intrigued and interested in what we have to show you. This is an event you must not miss. Wii promise.”
Nintendo’s American site isn’t nearly as interesting right now. In fact, there’s nothing touting the Thursday event that I could find.
There's some rumors about that put the European release on Nov. 24 based on some Amazon UK listings. Whether this pans out as correct or not, we'll have to see.
Here’s hoping the beans finally get spilled this week. Wii are tired of speculation.
