Wii have a date. Wii have a price. And, now, Wii definitely have Resident Evil.
The folks over at Digital Battle have a post up that points directly to Capcom Europe’s message boards that give more details about the forthcoming title.
It seems the new Wii-based Resident Evil will be called the “Umbrella Chronicles.” The game will boast the third-person style of Resident Evil 4 and it will include four chapters that feature two playable characters to boot.
All in all this is just rounding out to be a good week for Wii. The pricing and dating rumors have come to a close (finally!) and the way it’s shaking down is that consumers will win with this console.
Wii, of course, won’t offer all the bells and whistles of its two biggest competitors, but it will have some neat features and now Resident Evil will be the icing on the cake. Under $300 and Resident Evil, go Nintendo!
Nintendo’s console has a goofy name, my opinion hasn’t changed on that, but it honestly appears as if the people behind the machine have put a whole lot of time in making sure it’s a solid player at an affordable price.
Will its launch be smooth? That remains to be seen. Will the console appeal to everyone? Heck no. But, one thing’s almost for certain: Those who buy it will get their money’s worth without feeling like they’ve been taken to the cleaners.
