As Microsoft fixes errors from the past and Sony fumbles on its intended launch plans, Nintendo is singing a happy tune.Opera has announced it will offer its web browser for free until July 2007 for purchasers of the Wii next-gen console from Nintendo. Wii launches as planned this November with a pricing that’s the lowest of the next-gen bunch.
The browser won’t be installed on the console, but it will be made available for download from Wii’s Shop Channel. After July, users will have to purchase it using Wii points. How many points the browser will cost hasn’t been set.
Opera for Wii will have the same standard features as Opera 9 Desktop and will also have Zoom and Bookmarks available. The Wii remote will work with the browser to make the surfing experience more in tuned to the console.
