While eggheads will debate the merits of the PlayStation 3 versus Wii in regard to power, features, graphics and so on, a video on Google Video has boiled the issue down to a level of simplicity anyone can understand.
Predicting a Wii win in the next-gen war based on its bubble gum, perky appearance, this video maker has personified the two consoles in the form of women. The PS3 is a strong, educated, well-spoken woman who exudes confidence and power. The Wii is a cheerleader (or Hooter’s girl) type that’s bubbly, perky and cute. PS3 is powerful; Wii is just plain fun.
In the video, the high-power PS3 just can’t seem to compete with the perkiness of Wii despite the incredible features PS3 touts. In fact, PS3 storms off, peeved and the conclusion is drawn: Wii, very, very fun!
As simplistic and silly as the Google Video is, the idea behind it is not. People love perky and fun. Sophisticated and expensive can equal intimidating. The video maker could be on to something here and we’ll all get to find out soon if the conclusion drawn is correct. The battle begins for real this week.
