A whole new generation of “Alien” is coming gamers’ way courtesy of a deal between Sega and Twentieth Century Fox.The companies have announced that Sega now holds the worldwide, exclusive rights to deliver “Alien” games to next-gen consoles.
Under development already are a FPS title and a role-playing game. The first in the line will be released in 2009.
The “Alien” franchise is an old one, but it’s still got a lot of life left in it. The move to bring it next-gen will no doubt be welcomed by fans of the series and even non-fans who happen to like good games.
A FPS based on the franchise has the potential to be top-notch, and with the graphics abilities of consoles like the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, it should be sufficiently gross enough to be very cool!
Of course, which next-gen consoles the games are under consideration for hasn't been announced, but it's a safe bet we'll get to see some "Alien" action on at least two of the three if not all three.
