Sony’s barely managed to get its PlayStation 3 off the ground, yet it’s already talking about releasing a PlayStation 4 in 2010 or so.That news comes from Sony Computer Entertainment Europe VP Paul Holman. His statement seems to come in response to predictions the PS3 would be the last PlayStation to be made.
“To say that there will be no PS4 because of a management change is a bit far fetched,” he said.
In the meantime, Sony intends to work on firmware upgrades for the PS3, get new games on the market and complete its launch. Planned are “at least 20 new games” to coincide with the European launch in March.
Hope of a PS4 might be good news for some, but I’m betting those who can’t get their hands on a PS3 would be happy if Sony would work out the bugs and keep its launch promises.
It seems very premature to even mention a PS4 when the PS3 has barely made it to market.
