Nintendo’s Wii has made a big splash since it arrived in North America and Japan, and now the company has its sights set on Europe. The official launch there is tomorrow, Dec. 8.Reports can be found all over the Internet giving rise to the notion that excitement about this particular release is extremely high. Preorders are sold out all over, but gamers are still lining up to have the opportunity to buy any console that might be available.
From Play.tm, “Several stores across Europe, especially the UK, will be opening at midnight tonight to celebrate the arrival of the eagerly anticipated new console. At HMV in Oxford Street, where celebrities like Ian Wright and Pat Cash will be on hand to demonstrate the console prior to the late night retailing, some gamers have even been queueing since Tuesday - after all pre-orders for the system were taken.”
From ITV News, “Hundreds of games fans are expected to queue up overnight to get their hands on the much sought-after Nintendo Wii console.”
From the sounds of it, Nintendo will have an incredibly warm welcome in Europe.
