Reports that the strap on the Wii remote might be faulty are under investigation as Nintendo moves further into the holiday season with astounding sales figures.Nintendo President Satoru Iwata assures gamers the company is looking into reports about the strap failing during game play, causing the remote to become more of a weapon than a game controller.
"Some people are getting a lot more excited than we'd expected," Iwata has been quoted as saying. "We need to better communicate to people how to deal with Wii as a new form of entertainment."
The company already cautions buyers about exertion levels and has beefed up its online warnings in regard to remote safety.
Meanwhile, the company is considering the possibility of raising its target sales projection for the console, as its popularity is undeniable, flying Wii motes and all! Nintendo is also forecasting a profit of about $845 million for the fiscal year with Wii helping bolster those numbers.
There’s no word on how Nintendo would handle the situation if the straps are deemed faulty.
