Get ready for Oblivion addiction round two. That’s right, 2K and Bethesda Softworks are getting ready to release The Elder Scrolls IV: Shivering Isles, the official expansion for Oblivion.
The PC-based expansion will release this spring with an Xbox 360 version coming later over Xbox Live. The title will give addicts more than 30 hours of new game play experiences while letting them explore a new plane of Oblivion – the realm of Sheogorath, the Daedric Prince of Madness. Since it’s an expansion, gamers will be able to play with their existing game and character or create a new toon to explore new content.
"Oblivion's engaging and unique role-playing experience made it both a critical and consumer success," said Christoph Hartmann, President of 2K, in the official release. "We are excited to build upon its solid foundation of gameplay and appeal to give fans the expansion they've been craving."
Hartmann’s absolutely right, gamers are chomping at the bit for this expansion. More than 2.7 million copies of the game have sold to date.
I haven’t even had a chance to let the Oblivion addiction take hold, but I’m even excited. I’ll be keeping my eyes open for hard and fast dates for both the PC and 360 releases.
