Perpetual Entertainment’s Star Trek MMO finally has a web site live, but don’t expect to find a lot of information on it just yet.The best fans will be able to find on the site are news entries that are dated several months ago. However, there is a sign up for news and bulletins for those who are anxious to see this MMO based on the popular 40-year-old series take flight.
The game is being developed by Perpetual with a team of folks who trace their roots to such gaming companies as Electronic Arts, Blizzard, LucasArts and Rockstar.
According to the site, the title promises to “catapult players into a massively multiplayer experience unlike all others. Familiar friends, terrifying new enemies, exotic locales and dangerous missions will come to life as players rise through the ranks of Starfleet and come together to protect the ideals - and the very existence - of the Federation.”
It certainly sounds interesting. It will be worth a look to see what these folks come up with considering they have four decades of background material to guide their way. The game has been on the drawing board for a while, too, perhaps the site going up signals some major movement in development?
