You’ve got to give it to Atari. The company can take a punch and come back up fighting.
The latest out of the gaming great is news it will publish The Witcher, a highly anticipated fantasy RPG developed by CD Projekt Sp. z.o.o. Atari will be responsible for marketing and distributing the title in North America. The release for the PC is expected this fall.
The Witcher is a darker more “adult” fantasy role-play game that appears to border on the lines of horror to me. It has a single player traversing a world based on the books of Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski. Players will take on the role of Geralt, “a legendary monster slayer and master swordfighter with supernatural abilities and reflexes.”
The screens and trailer for this one look absolutely incredible. The action looks fast-paced and the monsters are truly breathtaking. It looks to me like The Witcher could be the Oblivion of 2007.
You can be this one will get loaded on my machine at release.
