Ain’t it Cool News have a very good interview with David Jaffe, the creative director of the game of the moment, PS2′s God of War.
He talks about the influences that helped shaped the game, whether there’s the possibility of a God of War II and the dedication that saw the development time stretch out to three years:
I didn’t care if this failed or not. I didn’t care if this was a success. I didn’t care if this was the last game I ever worked on. At the age of 33, I just wanted to do something that really speaks to the stuff that I love. If it works, great. If it sort of works, great. If it doesn’t work, great. But I don’t just want to make product. I want to make something that really moves people and myself.
