Dead Rising Bloody, Deep Fun

Dead Rising
One might think the new Xbox 360 title Dead Rising would be nothing but a bloody, zombie slaying fest. And, while it’s all that, loyal Igniq.com reader and contributor Dek says it’s a whole lot more, too.

Dek recently reviewed the game for us and he’s reported back that the title is more than worth the price of admission.

“Dead Rising really surprised me, at first I thought it was nothing but a zombie murder fest, but it turns out to be a very deep game. Where killing zombies is always a welcome option, you also have to solve several time dependent ‘cases,’ you can rescue survivors, fight psychopaths and work on your photography skills.”

The game has players assuming the role of Frank West, a freelance photojournalist with a penchant for getting into the action. West follows a story lead to a small town that has become overrun with zombies. He takes refuge at the local mall, thinking it will be a safe haven. Instead, that’s where the fun begins …

Dek gives the game four out of five flames and says it’s not only a blast to play, but also darn funny, as well.
