Gears Of War Gets New Maps

Emergence Day might be over, but that doesn’t mean the Gears of War fun needs to end.

The Discovery Channel is sponsoring a two-map expansion pack over Xbox Live Marketplace starting Jan. 10. The promotion is meant to help roll out “FutureWeapons,” a new show hosted by Richard “Mack” Machowicz, a U.S. Navy SEALs veteran.

And while the map pack is a pretty neat bonus just for checking out a show about guns, there’s more. The Discovery Channel is also giving away 2 million Microsoft Points for those who visit the show’s site. The show debuts Jan. 15 at 9 p.m. EST.

Gears of War is one of the hottest Xbox 360 games going right now. It’s sold more than 2 million copies to date, giving the Halo franchise a run for its money.
