With more than favorable results from its North American debut already under its belt, Nintendo is turning its sights to Europe where the Wii will launch is just over a week.
Shipments of the Wii consoles have made their way to the continent well in time for the Dec. 8 release, according to Game Daily.
Nintendo wouldn’t go into figures of how many consoles are poised for the launch or how many preorders had been taken. However, company officials are saying they will try to meet the demand.
“We’re launching a great product and we knew that demand would be high,” said Nintendo of Europe’s marketing director, Laurent Fischer. “Obviously, we’re doing everything we can to make sure that everyone who wants one, gets one.”
With the company on track to meet its 4 million unit promise by the end of the year, it sounds like there’s not only sincerity in those words, but also action.
