Xbox 360 Surround Sound Rolled Out

Xbox 360 surround sound
Imagine fighting alien scum in Halo while the battle sounds blare in surround sound. Xbox 360 gamers don’t have to imagine any more.

Pioneer has rolled out its 5.1 channel surround sound system in Singapore. The system was designed for use with Microsoft’s Xbox 360. The system was designed to go with the 360, mimicking its color and shaping.

The system is already available in the United States for about $499. Retailers like CircuitCity are even offering a sales price right now.

In addition to its appearance match, the system has the following features:

  • Compact speakers that offer 600 watts of 3-D audio power
  • Pioneer’s multi-channel acoustic calibration system is included, which means the gamer will be the center of the action.
  • Advanced connectivity from the receiver subwoofer to all five speaker connections, the digital and analog inputs, the tuner and control ports
  • Universal media remote to help put the gamer in the driver’s seat
  • Dolby Pro Logic II

There’s a whole host of other features, too, making this look like a steal if the 360 is considered the hub of a home entertainment system.

My husband would love this, but he might just have to wait until Halo 3 comes out to convince me to bite.
