In an odd demonstration Gigabyte posted a Youtube video showing off the efficiency of its proprietary cooling solution, called “Windforce”. This method of cooling was designed for their GTX 460 cards both 768MB and 1024MB. Basically what it boils down to is more of the same, better heat dissipation and lower temperatures using copper pipes in conjunction with well-placed fans to banish the heat.
Gigabyte’s GTX 460 is winning over hearts in its reviews on the net. It’s one of the quietest and coolest 460s out there, and includes a modest overclock of 715Mhz for the GPU speed and 1430mhz for the shader clock – but you can whack it up a lot more yourself using MSI Afterburner.
