Over on the Battlefield blog, EA and dice have released the first trailer for Battlefield 3 with in-game footage. You get a short glimpse of game-play through the eyes of a US marine in Iraqi Kurdistan.
At only 44 seconds long the video is a bit of a tease but the graphics look pretty impressive. Battlefield 3 is of course based on the new Frostbite 2.0 gaming engine.
Also of note is EA’s pre-order incentive. Basically if you pre-order the limited edition now you’ll be eligible to receive the digital expansion pack ‘Back to Karkand’ when it is released. You can also pre-order the game from from Amazon.
This themed multiplayer expansion pack includes four legendary maps from Battlefield 2 boldly re-imagined with Frostbite 2 physics, destruction and visuals. Completing the package are classic Battlefield 2 weapons and vehicles, unique rewards, new achievements/trophies, and more.
With no firm release date set, all we know is that Battlefield 3 is coming to PC, Xbox and PS3 sometime in the Fall.
