Steam taking Crysis 2 pre-orders, free Limited Edition upgrade

Amazon has been taking pre-orders for a few weeks now, but Valve today announced they are accepting pre-orders on the digital end of the spectrum.

To incentivise people into a pre-purchase Valve is offering a free upgrade to the ‘Limited Edition’ bundle for anyone who pre-purchases the game on Steam before March 26th 2011.

Those who opt for the Limited Edition bundle will receive:

Hologram Decoy
- SCAR weapon attachment
- Project a hologram of yourself used to deceive and confuse enemies

SCAR weapon skin – digital
- Medium assault rifle
- High accuracy and fire rate
- Unique digital camouflage variant

Unique Platinum Dog Tag
- Displays your rank
- Can be viewed by others
- Helps identify players
- Unique platinum frame not available through any other means

Bonus XP
- Awards additional experience
- Immediate boost to level 5
- Immediate access to all preset classes

Crysis 2 is coming to a PC, Xbox and PS3 near you on March 22nd (US) and the 25th (EU). There will also be a multiplayer demo on the 1st of next month. Crytek promise a good overview of the online action, with 2 maps and 2 separate game-modes in the demo.
