According to market research firm NDP, Call of Duty: Black Ops is the best-selling video game in history. The 7th iteration of the massively popular Call of Duty series sold more than 13.7 million units in the US alone, edging out the previous best seller Wii Play.
The game already made headlines back in November when it generated revenues of £223 million in its first 24 hours on sale. After six weeks the game’s revenue busted at the seams with sales figures of over $1 billion.
Developed by Treyarch, Black Ops is also the most pirated game of last year, with a mind-boggling 4,270,000 downloads over BitTorrent.
