IE9 downloaded 36 million times

Internet Explorer 9

According to statistic released by the Windows Team Blog, Microsoft’s latest internet brower has been downloaded a staggering 36 million times. This number includes both the beta and the release candidate.

There hasn’t been an official release date for the final version of IE9, but Microsoft India nearly let the cat out of the bag earlier when it tweeted a release date of March 24th. The tweet has since been retracted so we don’t know if that was initially a date Microsoft planned or a typo by someone who might be out of a job.

Haven’t tried out the Internet Explorer 9 release candidate? You can take a look and preview the latest release from Microsoft’s website.
