Igniq (not to be confused with IGN Entertainment) is an independent site dedicated to reporting on the gaming world. Known for its flaming icons, Igniq’s name was (respectfully) stolen from the language of the Inupiaq people in Alaska, and literally translates as “fire.” Since early 2004, Igniq has been delivering news reports, reviews, opinion pieces and advice about the PC/video gaming world. What began as a humble venture between friends has since grown to include readers from just about every country in the world. Our modest roots were planted when four gamers hatched the idea to create a site dedicated to giving gamers’ perspectives on gaming. Richie, Gary and Rob, all hailing from Dublin, Ireland, and Dave in London paved the way for Igniq’s creation. Through their dedication, and with a lot of help from loyal members of our forums and other contributors, the site has grown from a few visitors to an average of more than 4,000 a day. Today, as Igniq enters a new era in its history, another main contributor has joined the effort, bringing a unique perspective to the site. Sherri, who hails from Tampa, Florida, is a professional journalist who writes from the point of view of an avid gamer and mother. As Igniq grows, it is our sincere hope to bring news and reports that are relevant to our readers’ gaming experiences. To make this happen, we continue to value input from our loyal forum following and welcome opinions about the site, its stories and stories you’d like to see us cover. To share your ideas, click here. Thank you for your support of Igniq, we look forward to serving the gaming community for many years to come! The main contributors to Igniq are:
