In a four-word post on the Half Life 2 Fallout forums, Gabe Newell confirmed that Half Life 2 will be given Gold Status next Monday. Rumours of an imminent release have been spreading since a string of new videos were released, along with the files for the game preloading to Steam on Thursday. Gabe Newell once again visited the hl2fallout forums and announced that the much anticipated Half Life 2 will start pre-loading into Steam on the 19th of August (yesterday). This comes as owners of Counter Strike: Condition Zero and ATI hl2 coupons are beta testing the source engine under Counter Strike. Anticipation mounts for the release.....let us hope that anticipation after all, is not everything...
