New mission from Kuma's reality war series reenacts events that happened in Iraq just three weeks ago.

Kuma Reality Games today announced the release of a new mission for its subscription-based service, the PC war simulator Kuma\War. The latest scenario re-creates the action that occurred just last month in Iraq, the largest military action in the country since Saddam's fall. Titled Fallujah: Operation al-Fajr.

ATI have released an upgrade to their X800 line of graphics cards. Following the predictable trend of graphics board makers as they release new architecture, a more efficient model is usually brought out a few months down the line to squeeze some more juice out of the core. Nvidia are expected to follow suite with their 6800 line of gpus but no word as of yet.

Extreme Tech have put up a review of the X850 pitting it against the latest benchmarking utilities.

Despite being a disappointingly modest improvement over the X800 XT PE, ATI's new card secures their place as king of the graphics hill. Naturally, we expect this position to be challenged sooner rather than later with nVidia's GeForce 6800 "kicker" product, probably called the GeForce 6900 or 6950 or something similar.

A new initiative will outlaw the sale of "gory and sexually explicit software" in Ireland (where three out of four IGNIQ editors live):

[Justice Minister Michael McDowell] is to launch a review of censorship laws within weeks after concerns were raised by parents and campaigners, who said X-rated games are not monitored.
They also claimed that no action is taken against shops which sell 18 certificate software to under-18's.

Doom 3, Grand Theft Auto San Andreas, Gunslinger Girls 2 and Manhunt are among those facing the axe.

Currently, the law concerning games is The Video Recordings Act 1989; a spokesman for the Dept. of Justice said:

When The Video Recordings Act 1989 was brought in, the games were things like PacMan, which was totally innocent. It's only in the last few years that the games have become more violent.

The Sims 2EA have announced the first expansion pack for The Sims 2, University:

In The Sims 2 University players for the first time will play through the new "young adult" life stage as their Sims head off to college and join the campus crowd. Whether they live in the dorms or rush a fraternity or sorority that's just the beginning...Sims can choose from one of 11 majors and by keeping their grades on track, they'll secure a final degree and open up 4 new career paths. Players will enjoy all-new college based wants and fears that are tied to their Sims' social life and academic goals which will lead to new rewards and powers that will help them achieve their goals and aspirations in college and beyond.

Pranks, parties and college social interactions add to the excitement while your Sims explore campus locations such as college lounges, pool halls, gyms and coffee houses. As in real life, if your Sims start running low on funds, they can earn Simoleans by picking up a part time job, like tutoring, or engaging in riskier affairs like printing money as a member of the "secret society."

More on the press release

GameSpot also have an interview with The Sims 2 University lead producer, Kevin Hogan:

GS: Will you have a cast of memorable characters at school? Like the crusty old dean, the college quarterback, and the resident nerds?

KH: We are definitely introducing a set of new characters that you might see around town. More on this to come in the upcoming weeks!
