Background info:
From the original game Max payne's family got murdered (baby and wife) and he went back through time to kill his wife's and babies murder and the business that led up to it which he wanted to stop. Also Max Payne is a cop.

The game starts of with two main characters which you see on the front cover which are Max Payne and Mona Sax. They have both been through similar tragies (his wife and baby murdered and mona's sister got murdered) and are being hunted in the game later on for similar reasons. Of course they have designed a nice fit bird again who is also a real killer so a mans worst nightmare. (you will have to play the rest to find out more, as I don't wish to spoil it for you)

It offers some stunning bullet time affects

Some kool dives seen in the first one

A kool reload

The druggy brain wash effect

Another Drugged up one. Makes you eyes look at the centre of the screen

Nice costumes

An interactive environment which we have seen in videos of half life 2 and far cry. Max Payne also offers you with that in the way of: shooting barrels, canisters, move boxes, push people outta the way by boxes, doors. Shoot cables, ladders and other things that may affect the environment. Also the bodies fall very well when you kill your enemy, went it hits certain objects it bends correctly.

Also the story like the first one is very interesting. You keep going backwards and forwards through time, you really couldn't predict what was gonna happen until the end maybe. This messes with your mind so I suggest that you stay sober whilst playing this game and stay off the drugs because the warps will make you trip even further and you will think your in the game yourself ;)

The game is rather short though, but it is very enjoyable as long as it lasts. You are able to be both characters in the game. The only problem I found for me is that you have to do it on the easiest mode and once completed you can choose other modes, I just like choosing a medium mode and that's about it, I probs wont play it again for a long time. There are some great reflects made by the shadows, mirrors and the clothes as the anti analysis really does do a great job. Sometimes the third person view becomes annoying as you aim at someone but your not necessarily hitting them because there maybe a object in the way.
I recommend buying this game if you played the first, if not go by the first, then this and it will all kinda start to make sense (but not completely). I do not wish to give to much of the story line away. But if you wish to know more e-mail me at dave.dalley@gmail.com or any hints or help you need. Just look at the screen shots above.

This game was tested on:
Amd Athlon 208x10.5=2184ghz
512mb 400mhz 3200
128mb 9800 pro
windows XP
1280x1024

I had everything on full including the anti analysis on x6

enjoy ;)
